NSS Unit of GDC Kishtwar Participates in Mock Drill Under ‘Operation Shield’ in Collaboration with District Administration

Kishtwar, DD, In a proactive move to strengthen disaster preparedness and response capabilities, a mock drill was conducted today under Operation Shield in Kishtwar. Organized in collaboration with the District Administration Kishtwar, the exercise witnessed enthusiastic participation from the NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Kishtwar.
The NSS volunteers, acting as Civil Defence Volunteers, extended their services at the District Hospital Kishtwar, assisting the hospital authorities in various aspects of emergency preparedness. Their duties included patient assistance, crowd control, mock evacuation drills, and logistical support, all of which contributed to the overall success of the drill.

The entire exercise was coordinated by Prof. Esarul Ayub, NSS Programme Officer, under the able leadership of Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal, whose continuous support and encouragement played a vital role in the effective execution of the activity.
The mock drill concluded successfully, showcasing the NSS Unit’s strong commitment to community service and disaster readiness in partnership with local authorities.DD
