Man Succumbs to Injuries After Bear Attack in Kishtwar

Kishtwar,(DD): In a tragic incident of human-wildlife conflict, a man critically injured in a bear attack in the Trigam area of Kishtwar district has succumbed to his injuries.

The victim, identified as Krishan Lal, son of Chunni Lal, and a resident of Trigam, was reportedly attacked by a wild bear while he was in the vicinity of his village. Locals rushed to his aid and evacuated him to a nearby hospital.

Despite efforts by the medical staff, Krishan Lal succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The incident has once again raised concerns about the increasing frequency of wild animal encounters in the hilly districts of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in forest-adjacent areas like Kishtwar. Residents have urged the Wildlife Department to intensify patrolling and implement preventive measures to ensure public safety(DD)
