Indian Army Rescues 11, Including Five Children, from Flood-Hit Rajouri

Rajouri, J&K (India): The Indian Army, under the White Knight Corps, rescued 11 civilians, including five children, from flood-affected areas of Rajouri district following heavy rainfall and flash floods.

The rescue operations were carried out in close coordination with the Jammu & Kashmir Police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the civil administration.In the first operation, Army personnel responded to reports of nine civilians, including five children, stranded across a flooded stream near Churung village, south of Thanamandi. Battling strong currents and adverse weather, the rescue teams reached the spot swiftly and evacuated all those stranded to safety.In a parallel operation, troops of the Engineer Regiment rescued two youths, aged between 17 and 20 years, who were stranded on a river island in the Naushera Tawi River near Dhangri, about 12 km from Rajouri.

Despite the strong water flow, the soldiers successfully brought both youths to safety before handing them over to their families in the presence of civil administration officials.The successful rescue missions highlighted the Indian Army’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance during natural disasters. Effective coordination among the Army, J&K Police, SDRF, and the civil administration ensured that both operations were completed without any loss of life.The Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the people and extending timely assistance during emergencies and natural calamities.
