CASO Launched in Udhampur After Suspected Movement


UDHAMPUR, (J&K) India: Security forces on Sunday launched a massive Joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Jophar area of Ramnagar in Udhampur district following reports of suspicious movement.

According to preliminary information, security agencies received inputs about the suspected movement of two to three unidentified persons in the area. Following the information, joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Special Operations Group (SOG), Indian Army and other security agencies were mobilised.

The forces cordoned off the Jophar area and launched a systematic search of the surrounding areas, including possible hideouts and routes through which the suspected persons could have moved.

Senior officials, including DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma and SSP Udhampur Amritpal Singh, were present at the site and supervising the operation.

Security arrangements in the area have been tightened, while forces continue to search for clues and verify the reported movement.

The operation was underway when reports last came in. Further details are awaited from the security agencies.
