Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati Takes Charge as J&K and Ladakh Chief Justice

Jammu, Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati took oath as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on Wednesday. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena administered the oath at a ceremony held at the Shalimar Auditorium of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology in Srinagar.


The ceremony began with the National Song and National Anthem, followed by the reading of the warrant of appointment issued by the President of India. The Lieutenant Governor then administered the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Bhati, after which the newly appointed Chief Justice and officials signed the oath document. The LG subsequently handed over the warrant of appointment to Justice Bhati.


Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, members of the Council of Ministers, High Court judges, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat and other senior officials from the administration and police were present on the occasion.


With Justice Bhati assuming office, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has received new judicial leadership.
