ARTO Kishtwar Conducts Surprise Naka, E-Challans Over 40 Vehicles for Violations

Kishtwar,DD: In a bid to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic regulations, ARTO Kishtwar Tasleem Wani (JKAS), along with MVI Rakesh Kumar and their team, conducted a surprise naka at Bindraban on the Kishtwar-Chatroo route.

During the checking drive, more than 40 vehicles were e-challaned for various violations, including overcharging passengers, failure to display fare lists, disconnected speed-limiting devices, overloading, and absence of HSRP number plates.

The enforcement team imposed an expected fine of ₹67,500, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to road safety and regulatory compliance. The ARTO emphasized that such inspections would continue to ensure passenger safety and prevent traffic violations.DD
