50% Electricity Restored After Gusty Winds Damage Power Infrastructure in Kashmir: Officials

Srinagar, (DD) The Power Development Department (PDD) on Monday said that over 50 percent of electricity supply has been restored across Kashmir after gusty winds and heavy rain caused widespread damage to transmission lines and electric poles late Sunday evening.

According to officials, the storm severely affected 33KV and 11KV transmission lines in multiple districts. “Electric poles also sustained significant damage due to the strong winds,” one official said.

Major disruptions were reported in parts of Kulgam, Pulwama, Srinagar, and North Kashmir, where restoration teams have been working round-the-clock(DD)
