Jammu, The annual Budha Amarnath Yatra 2026 was formally inaugurated in Jammu on Monday. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas.On this occasion, he extended his best wishes to all the pilgrims for a safe, pleasant, and spiritually fulfilling journey.
The Lieutenant Governor remarked that the pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Baba Budha Amarnath is a profound spiritual and soulful experience. He expressed confidence that this pilgrimage brings positive transformation to the lives of the devotees and offers them an opportunity to comprehend the deeper truths of life.
He appreciated the efforts of the Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, local administration, security agencies, langar (community kitchen) organizations, and members of civil society for the successful organization of the Yatra and the Budha Amarnath fair.
He noted that effective coordination between various organizations and the administration has ensured that all necessary arrangements are in place for the pilgrims.
Religious and spiritual saints, religious leaders, public representatives, senior administrative and police officials, security force officers, prominent citizens, and a large number of pilgrims participated in the inauguration ceremony. With the departure of the first batch, the annual religious pilgrimage from Jammu to the Budha Amarnath shrine has formally commenced.
