Workshop on Travel Journalism organized by University of Jammu

Jammu, DD: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM), University of Jammu started five-day skill workshop on Travel Journalism, aimed at honing the skills of aspiring tourism professionals. Mr. Yogesh Manhas, Brand Building Advisor and Art Director from New Delhi is the resource person. The students from MBA (TTM) and BBA (HM) are participating in the workshop.

Prof. Alka Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Director, SIIEDC while appreciating the efforts of SHTM, urged the students to explore new career avenues in the area of tourism especially keeping in view the dynamic nature of the industry. Prof. Anil Gupta, Director, SHTM said that in line with the vision of Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu the department is working on skill building opportunities for students through experiential learning workshop.

Dr. Suvidha Khanna, Workshop coordinator of the workshop shared that during the workshop the students will learn about role of media in tourism, travel narratives, visual storytelling, social media and travel reporting and ethics in travel journalism. Tapas Tandon, faculty member facilitated the conduct of the workshop.DD
