Srinagar, (DD) Kashmir currently has two active COVID-19 cases after two postgraduate dental students at Government Dental College (GDC) Srinagar tested positive five days ago.

According to a senior health official, both students, originally from Kerala, had recently returned to the college after visiting their home state and began experiencing mild symptoms. “They were sent to GMC Srinagar for testing, where both tested positive for COVID-19,” the official said.

The students have been isolated inside the hostel, with separate washroom facilities arranged as a precaution. “Their condition is stable, and there is no need for concern at this point,” the official added.

Retesting is scheduled after two days, following standard COVID-19 protocol. “The situation is completely under control, but necessary precautions must continue,” the official emphasized.

“At present, there is no alarming situation in Kashmir. The infection appears mild and manageable,” he concluded.(DD)
