Arun Jasrotia

Udhampur :TDD, A major traffic disruption occurred on the strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) today following a three-truck collision near Nachlana in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir. The accident, which took place early this morning, resulted in both sides of the highway being blocked, leading to significant delays for commuters and transport vehicles. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance to any injured individuals. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.

As authorities worked tirelessly to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow, the impact of the collision was felt far and wide. The Jammu-Srinagar highway is a vital artery connecting the Kashmir Valley to the rest of India, and its closure caused significant inconvenience and economic loss. Commuters, travelers, and businesses were affected by the disruption, as essential goods and services were delayed.

In a statement released on social media, the Inspector General of Traffic (IGP) for Jammu and Kashmir announced that the traffic on the highway had been restored at 1:25 PM. However, stranded vehicles between Nashri and the Navyug Tunnel still needed to be cleared, and commuters were advised to exercise patience and follow traffic regulations to avoid further congestion. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the potential consequences of accidents on major transportation routes.TDD
