Ten Indian Army Soldiers Lose Lives in Tragic Road Accident in J&K’s Bhaderwah


Doda, J&K (India): At least ten Indian Army soldiers lost their lives today in a tragic road accident that occurred in the hilly district of Doda.

As many as 11 other soldiers sustained multiple injuries when the Army vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in the Khani Top area of Bhaderwah.

Immediately after the incident, rescue operations were launched by local residents, police, and Army personnel as soon as the information reached them.

The injured were evacuated to a hospital, where ten critically injured soldiers were reportedly pronounced dead. At least 11 others are undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, separate investigations into the incident have been initiated by the police and the Army.

Condolences

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over the loss of Indian Army soldiers in the tragic accident in Doda. In a post on X, the Defence Minister said he was “deeply saddened” by the unfortunate incident and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, also expressed shock and grief over the loss of ten brave Indian Army soldiers in the road accident. He conveyed his condolences and sympathies to the families of the gallant soldiers who lost their lives and to those injured. The Lieutenant Governor spoke to senior officials and directed them to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured and provide all necessary assistance to the families of the victims.

“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives of ten of our brave Indian Army soldiers in an unfortunate road accident in Doda. We will always remember the outstanding service and supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers. My deepest condolences to the grieving families,” reads the condolence message from the Lieutenant Governor of J&K.

Besides, All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed deep sadness over the tragic vehicle accident in Doda, in which several Army jawans made the supreme sacrifice and many others were injured.

“My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones. The nation stands united in deep sorrow, and our thoughts and prayers are with the injured for a speedy recovery,” his statement reads.DD
