Kathua Police Auctions 25 Seized Vehicles, Generates ₹17.72 Lakh


Kathua, J&K (India): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday auctioned 25 vehicles seized under Section 52-A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, generating revenue of ₹17,72,600.

The public auction was conducted at the District Police Lines (DPL), Kathua under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma. The event was attended by DySP DAR Kathua, DySP Headquarters Kathua and members of the District Drug Disposal Committee.

According to police, the vehicles were auctioned through an open and transparent bidding process in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act and the directions of the District Drug Disposal Committee.

Police said the exercise was aimed at ensuring the lawful and timely disposal of seized property while maintaining transparency, accountability and compliance with legal procedures.

Reiterating its commitment to combating drug trafficking, Kathua Police said such initiatives strengthen public confidence in the justice delivery system and reflect the department’s resolve to enforce anti-narcotics laws effectively while ensuring transparent administration.
