Special Awareness programme organised by kishtwar police on “the New Criminal law”

Kishtwar,DD, On the directions of the senior formations, J&K Police District Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Civil Administration Kishtwar, Organized an awareness program on the implementation of new criminal laws at Government Degree College Kishtwar to educate students about the newly enacted legal provisions and other key issues.

The event was led by Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta,assisted by PSI Moin Khan and PSI Ashish Sharma, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the salient features of the *Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023.

During the session, PSI Moin Khan presented a detailed presentation on trending cybercrimes,including threats posed by digital arrest APK files and other malicious software. The session also covered women’s safety, drug abuse prevention, and other critical issues, ensuring that the youth are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities under the updated legal framework. Special emphasis was laid on the use of digital tools to facilitate transparent investigations and speedy justice delivery.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 students and faculty members, alongside officials from the Civil Administration, who engaged in thought-provoking discussions and raised pertinent queries regarding the new laws and their practical implications.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the college administration, lauding the efforts of J&K Police District Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Civil Administration Kishtwar, for promoting legal awareness and community engagement through such informative initiatives.DD
