Srinagar, May 15(DD): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday hailed the Indian armed forces for their decisive action in avenging the recent Pahalgam terror attack, calling it a “historic victory” under Operation Sindoor.Speaking at an event alongside Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at the Army’s 15 Corps headquarters in Badami Bagh, Srinagar, LG Sinha said the entire nation is proud of the armed forces for dismantling terror infrastructure across the border in Pakistan.“Nation is proud of our armed forces for scripting a historic victory saga of ‘Operation Sindoor’ with bravery and avenging the Pahalgam terror attack.

They have given exemplary punishment to terror planners sitting in Pakistan by dismantling their terror bases and killing top terrorists,” Sinha said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Reinforcing the Defence Minister’s stance, LG Sinha echoed the call for international oversight of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. “As Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh Ji said, Pakistan’s nuclear blackmail won’t work now and its nuclear weapons should be taken under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),” he added.

He further asserted that future terror acts originating from across the border will be treated as acts of war. “The world has seen that terrorism in J&K Union Territory is engineered and executed by Pakistan. Our mighty forces have ensured that now we will enter deep into Pakistan’s heartland and eliminate the terror threat at its source,” Sinha stated.

Operation Sindoor was reportedly launched as a targeted military response following the Pahalgam terror incident, which claimed the lives of multiple security personnel. Details of the operation remain classified, but officials confirmed high-value terrorist targets were neutralized and key infrastructure was destroyed.

The visit of Defence Minister Singh to Kashmir and his interaction with troops underscores New Delhi’s message of zero tolerance against terrorism and a firm policy shift in counter terror strategy.(DD)
