Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar: DD, Congress MLA Nizamudin Bhat and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Friday stressed the need for media to maintain decorum in the House and report with discipline, expressing concern over instances of misreporting.

Nizamudin while speaking in the assembly as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, “I urge the Director of Information to strictly accredit media personnel, as nowadays anyone with a microphone or phone calls themselves a media person.”

Raising a similar concern, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “Some days ago, during a conversation with Minister Sakina Itoo, media personnel misrepresented our statements. We are all respectful MLAs, but I request that those involved in misreporting be barred from covering proceedings until further notice.” (KNC)
