Poonch,DD, I visited District Hospital Poonch today to review the medical arrangements for the victims of the ongoing cross-border shelling. It is with deep sorrow that I share the loss of 9 precious lives, with 33 individuals injured so far due to the unprovoked shelling. The situation remains extremely tense.
I am in constant communication with the Hon’ble Chief Minister shri Omar Abdullah and am closely monitoring developments. The District Administration, including DDC, SSP Poonch, Additional SP Poonch, and the entire civil and police administration, is actively engaged on the ground and working in close coordination with the medical teams.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to the medical team led by the Chief Medical Officer, Poonch, for their tireless and dedicated efforts in saving lives under such difficult circumstances.
I am also in regular contact with the people of Poonch and will continue to stand by them during this critical time.
I once again appeal to all citizens to remain calm and stay indoors, preferably on the ground floor, for their safety.
