Katra Ropeway Project Protests End as Administration Reaches Agreement with Local Committee

JAMMU : TDD,The protests against the Katra Ropeway Project have concluded following successful negotiations between the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangarsh Simiti and the administration. Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, announced that all detained protesters will be released immediately as part of the agreement.

The breakthrough came after a crucial meeting between the protesters’ representatives and administrative officials, where both parties reached a mutual understanding regarding the concerns surrounding the ambitious ropeway project. The Bandh (shutdown), which had affected daily life and pilgrim movement in the region, has been officially called off.

This development marks a significant turn in the ongoing dispute over the ropeway project, which aims to enhance connectivity to the famous Vaishno Devi shrine. The project has been a subject of controversy due to various concerns raised by local stakeholders.TDD
