Jawan injured in CFV in Jammu’s Akhnoor sector: BSF

Jammu, TDD: A BSF jawan was injured in an unprovoked firing from across in Akhnoor sector of Jammu, BSF officials said today.

BSF’s Jammu based spokesman, in a statement, issued here said that on September 11, at about 02:35 AM, an incident of unprovoked firing in the Akhnoor area from across the border took place which was befittingly responded to by the BSF. “One BSF personnel sustained injuries in Pak firing; Troops are on high alert,” the spokesman said, adding it was a ceasefire violation.

The injured BSF jawan has been identified as CT/GD Durba Jyoti Das.

BSF sources said the area is being sanitized to check whether the firing was aimed at giving cover to infiltrators. TDD
