Jammu: An International Art Exhibition of paintings, drawings and prints, organized by Kala Kendra, Jammu in collaboration with ArtFort Chandigarh was inaugurated by Prabhinder Lall, an eminent artist from Chandigarh, at the Sansar Chand Art Gallery of Kendra today.
Secretary, Kala Kendra, Dr. Javaid Rahi, Eminent author Dr. Nirmal Vinod and noted artist Jang S. Verman, and were present among a large number of artists, art lovers and intellectuals in the inaugural ceremony.
The exhibition was organized in memory of the first women sculpture of J&K late Gobind Kour who served as a faculty of Institute of Music and Fine Art , Jammu .
Dr. Javaid Rahi in his welcome address stated that a total 47 works are on display . He said the main objective of the programme was to connect J&K painters with the rest of the world. He said that the present show will certainly project the art of Jammu artists, particularly the young artists in the international perspective.
The chief guest Prabhinder Lall, Dr. Nirmal Vinod and Jang S. Verman also addressed the gathering on this occasion. The exhibition is dedicated to late Gobind Kour, 1st Contemporary Woman Sculptor of Jammu on her death anniversary on 11th August.
The art works of forty seven artists from six countries viz. Malaysia, Thailand, Poland, Turkiye, Poland and India will be put on display in the proposed exhibition. The exhibition which is to be displayed at Sansar Chand Baru Art Gallery of the Kendra, Jammu has been curated by Jang S. Verman, the senior artist from Jammu. The other curators for the show are Prabhinder Lall, an eminent artist from Chandigarh; Suzlee Ibrahim from Malaysia; and B S Baloria, Dharamshala (HP).
Mahua Gupta, a young artist from Jammu, has been assigned the responsibility of Coordinator for the show at Jammu. Faculty of Fine Arts, ASWARA, Kuala Lum Pur, Malaysia; Baloria Art Gallery, Dharalshala (HP, India) and Verman The artists who are participating in the exhibition include Mssrs.

A large number of prominent and well- known artists from abroad, Jammu & Kashmir and other states of India have come forward to participate in this event. Mohua Gupta conducted the show . The exhibition will remain open till 17th.
