India’s Prime Minister receives Order of the Polar Star

Stokholam: Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, in the presence of HRH the Crown Princess, received India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gothenburg. During the visit, Modi was presented with the Royal Order of the Polar Star by HRH the Crown Princess.


Prior to the visit in Gothenburg, HM The King decided to confer the Royal Order of the Polar, Commander Grand Cross, upon Modi. In a ceremony at the County Governor’s residence, in the presence of Kristersson, HRH the Crown Princess presented Modi with the Royal Order.
The Order of the Polar Star was instituted in 1748 and is awarded to individuals for their personal endeavours for Sweden or Swedish interests. (Press Release, Swedish Government)
