Indian Army Organises Special Distribution Camp for Gujjar-Bakkarwal Community, VDGs at Bhaderwah

Doda:DD, Indian Army at Bhaderwah organized a special distribution camp for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal community and Village Defence Guards (VDG) at Dugga and Goha, as part of its ongoing outreach and commitment to the welfare of the local population under the Project Roshni.
The initiative aimed to improve the living conditions of these nomadic and marginalized groups residing in remote, electricity-deficient areas. During the event, searchlights were distributed to the beneficiaries.
The camp was inaugurated by an Indian Army officer, who assured the locals of the Army’s unconditional and enduring support.
This humanitarian effort not only addressed immediate needs such as lighting, mobile charging and basic household requirements but also strengthened the bond of trust and goodwill between the Indian Army and the community.
A total of 250 persons from the Gujjar and Bakkarwal community and Village Defence Guards attended the event at Dugga, and 80 persons attended at Goha.


A total of 160 searchlights were distributed to the needy beneficiaries.
The communities expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for extending timely assistance and for standing firmly by their side during moments of need.DD
