Rajouri: The Indian Army organised an informative lecture on “Women’s Health and Hygiene” at Government Higher Secondary School Samote.

The lecture aimed to educate adolescent girls about the importance of personal hygiene and overall well-being, while addressing common health-related concerns faced by young women, particularly in rural areas.

The session covered essential topics such as maintaining cleanliness, proper nutrition, and preventive healthcare. It also highlighted the various challenges faced by women in rural and remote areas and provided practical guidance on maintaining hygiene in resource-constrained environments. Additionally, the lecture emphasised the role of women in society and the importance of promoting gender equality and empowerment.

A total of 98 girls, 47 boys, and 15 teachers from GHSS Samote participated in the session, showing keen interest and actively engaging in discussions. The students appreciated the valuable information and guidance provided during the lecture.

This initiative by the Indian Army represents an important step toward empowering young girls with awareness and confidence, enabling them to make informed decisions about their health. Programmes like these strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and the local community, ensuring a brighter and healthier future for the younger generation.
