District Youth Parliament, Yuva Connect Programme Concludes in Srinagar

Srinagar: The District-Level Youth Parliament and Yuva Connect Programme, organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Srinagar, in collaboration with the Nodal Agency National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir, concluded at Government Women’s Degree College M.A. Road in Srinagar.

The programme witnessed the participation of nearly 300 students from various institutions across the district.

Raja Nighat Aman, Senior Superintendent of Police, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, along with the Principal of Women’s Degree College, M.A. Road, Srinagar.

The central theme of the Youth Parliament was “50 Years of the Emergency,” a subject that sparked debate and critical reflection among the youth. Participants expressed their perspectives on democracy, constitutional values, civil liberties, and the lessons drawn from that historic phase of the nation’s journey. The programme served as a platform for nurturing democratic awareness and leadership qualities among young minds.

The welcome address was delivered by Waqar Amin, NSS Coordinator, University of Kashmir, who highlighted the importance of youth engagement in democratic processes and nation-building.

Pradip Kumar, Deputy Director of MY Bharat Srinagar, delivered motivating remarks, encouraging students to actively participate in constructive dialogue, uphold constitutional principles, and contribute responsibly to society.

The programme was managed by the team of MY Bharat Srinagar volunteers, including Rahi Rayaz (TOT), Imran Khan (Bharat Scouts and Guides), Inam Hussain, Muzamil Abbas, Showkat Ahmad Mir, Faizan Salmani, and several other volunteers whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
