Srinagar, May 06(DD): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today stressed that the hunt for those responsible for the recent terror attack in Pahalgam must not lead to unnecessary hardship for the common people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between security operations and civilian welfare. “We understand the gravity of the situation, and it may take time,” he said. “But it’s equally important to ensure that innocent people do not suffer while the search for the attackers continues. This concern has been clearly communicated.”

Omar Abdullah called for security agencies to adopt a careful, targeted approach in their investigations, avoiding widespread disruptions that could impact everyday life.

When asked about his recent meeting with the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister declined to share details. “Let that remain between us. What was discussed should stay private,” he stated.

His remarks come at a time when security has been heightened across the Valley following the attack, with intensified operations in several areas. The Chief Minister’s appeal serves as a reminder of the need for a people-first approach, even amid counter-terror efforts (DD)
