ARTO Kishtwar Conducts Traffic Enforcement Drive, Seizes Two Vehicles

Kishtwar, DD: In a significant enforcement drive, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) of Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani along with Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Rakesh and their team, conducted two separate traffic Nakas today—lone on the Drabshala-Salana route and another on the Thathri-Bunjwah route.

During the operation, the team inspected over 100 vehicles and issued 22 e-challans for various traffic violations, including overloading, disconnected speed-limiting devices, absence of fare lists, and overcharging. The fines imposed are expected to total ₹2,01,200.

Additionally, two vehicles found operating without valid permits were seized on the spot. The enforcement action underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring road safety and adherence to transport regulations in the region.

Authorities have urged vehicle operators to comply with traffic laws to avoid penalties and ensure passenger safety. Such measures aim to improve road discipline and prevent accidents in Kishtwar.DD
