KATHUA, As part of the celebrations leading up to the 80th Independence Day, J&K Police Kathua organized a grand “Pad Yatra” in Kathua to promote patriotism, national unity, and pay tribute to the martyrs of the nation.
The Pad Yatra commenced from Shaheedi Chowk, Kathua, and culminated at the Martyrs’ Memorial, DPL Kathua. The event was attended by DIG-P JSK Range Sh. Shridhar Patil IPS, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Sh. Rajesh Sharma JKAS, SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS, CO IRP 19 Bn., Principal PTS Kathua, Addl. SP Kathua, DySP Hqrs Kathua, DySP DAR Kathua, civil and police officers, and martyrs’ family members.
The Yatra witnessed enthusiastic participation of approximately 3,000 people, including senior police officers, police personnel, martyrs’ family members, students, and prominent citizens of Kathua.
Participants carried the National Flag and raised patriotic slogans throughout the march, spreading the message of unity, integrity, and pride in the nation. The event was organized under the aegis of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to instill a sense of civic responsibility and love for the country, especially among the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, senior officers emphasized that such initiatives strengthen the bond between the police and the public and reaffirm our collective commitment to the nation.
J&K Police Kathua reiterated its commitment to honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and fostering the spirit of patriotism across the district.
