CRPF 137 Battalion Donates Blood to Save Udhampur Bus Accident Victims

UDHAMPUR; In a powerful display of humanitarian spirit, personnel from the 137th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) stepped forward to donate blood following a devastating bus accident in the Khagote area of Ramnagar Tehsil.

The tragic incident, which claimed 21 lives and left nearly 57 others injured, sparked an immediate emergency response across the district.
Under the direction of Commandant Manoj Kumar Sicon, a dedicated team led by Dr. Manish Rundla arrived at the Government District Hospital to bolster the efforts of medical staff struggling to manage the influx of casualties.

Recognizing that many of the critically injured required immediate surgical intervention, approximately 12 to 14 CRPF jawans voluntarily donated blood to replenish the hospital’s dwindling supplies.

While the initial rescue operations at the crash site were conducted by the District Administration, local police, and the Indian Army, the CRPF’s intervention at the healthcare facility provided a crucial lifeline.

This proactive measure ensured that no further lives were lost due to a shortage of life-saving blood units during the peak of the crisis.

“The swift action of the 137th Battalion highlights the unwavering commitment of our security forces to serve the public, even beyond their primary duty of maintaining safety and security.”

The selfless contribution of the CRPF personnel has earned widespread acclaim from both the local community and hospital authorities.

By bridging the gap between rescue and recovery, the battalion demonstrated the vital role that paramilitary forces play in disaster management and community support within the region.
