Online Refresher Course in Commerce and Management of Jammu University

Jammu: The Postgraduate Department of Commerce, University of Jammu in collaboration with Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTC), University of Jammu inaugurated the Two-Week Online Refresher Course in Commerce and Management to enhance the skills and knowledge of professionals and educators.

The course, organized from December 15 -29, 2025 is spread over 15 days, 4 sessions each day of 1.5-hour duration.

The course brought together 124 participants from different Institutions/Universities across the different states of India. Renowned personalities across the nation have been invited for taking various session, setting the stage for a transformative learning experience.

Various emerging topics including Indian model of sustainable development, business intelligence and transformational impact of AI, Bloom’s taxonomy, business models, and many more are a part of the refresher course.

Prof. Neelu Rhometra, Chief Guest of the inaugural session in her presidential remarks applauded the efforts of the department and MMTTC for organising such programmes. She suggested the importance of experiential learning in today’s scenario and underscored the importance of having diverse views in learning and development of researchers. She extended her best wishes for organising the course and addressed the importance of modern research.

Prof. Sandeep Pandita, Director MMTC, University of Jammu, elucidated the critical importance of teacher training in advancing educational excellence and professional development. He highlighted the importance of Indian Knowledge System in recent times.

Prof. Alka Sharma, gave a presentation on the topic ‘Evolving Role of Faculty in Higher Education System’. She enlightened the participants about the modern practices for enhancement of NEP, 2020. She also discussed the relevance of bridging theory and practices in higher education system.

Earlier, Prof. Jeevan Jyoti, HOD Department of Commerce, extended a warm welcome to the participants and expressed her enthusiasm for this initiative.

Prof. Hardeep Chahal discussed the importance of ethics in research. She also motivated the participants to do quality research in their respected fields.

Prof. Tarsem Lal,Course Coordinator delivered the formal vote of thanks.

Dr. Harleen Kaur, Deputy Coordinator briefed the participants about the general instructions to ensure a smooth and enriching learning experience. She concluded the session thanking everyone and inviting participants for a enriched experience throughout the course.DD
