Poonch, DD, In a major action against drug trafficking and habitual offenders, District Police Poonch has successfully detained a notorious drug peddler under the provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
The accused, Sajjad Hussain Shah alias Sajjada, son of Sarfraz Hussain Shah, resident of Potha, Tehsil Surankote, District Poonch, has been detained under the PIT NDPS Act on the orders of the Worthy Divisional Commissioner Jammu, vide Order No. 621/2025 dated 17.10.2025.
Following the issuance of the detention order, Poonch Police took the accused into custody and lodged him in District Jail Udhampur for preventive detention.
It is pertinent to mention that the said individual is a notorious and habitual drug peddler, actively involved in multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act across Jammu Province. He has previously been named,DD
