Srinagar, (DD)Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday affirmed that the Indian Armed Forces are fully prepared to handle any situation, following a series of drone attacks launched by Pakistan targeting multiple military installations in Jammu and Kashmir.

After visiting the Uri sector to assess the situation, LG Sinha told reporters that while Pakistan had made provocative attempts, India’s defence forces were alert and ready to respond effectively to any threat.

“The administration is making every effort to ensure that residents of border areas face no inconvenience,” he said. “I visited several villages along the border that have suffered losses. Ex-gratia relief has been extended to the injured and to the families of those who lost their lives.”

Sinha also stated that the extent of the damage is currently being evaluated and that new safety measures are in the pipeline. “There is a clear need for more bunkers in these areas. We will begin constructing new bunkers in the coming days to ensure the safety of our people,” he added.

His remarks follow rising tensions along the Line of Control, where recent hostilities have escalated, putting both civilians and defence infrastructure at risk( DD)
