POONCH, DD: A tragic road accident occurred today involving a passenger bus bearing registration number JK02AX-1671, on way from Ghani to Mendhar. The incident resulted in the unfortunate loss of four lives and injuries to several others.
District authorities responded swiftly and launched rescue and medical relief operations. The injured were shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner Poonch, who also serves as the Chairman of the District Road Safety Committee, has announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs. 1 lakh each for the families of the deceased. This compensation will be disbursed from the Road Safety Victim Fund.
The district administration has extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and assured to provide all necessary assistance.DD
