Waqf Board Offers Government Job to Brother of Pahalgam Hero Who Died Saving Tourists

Srinagar, (DD): Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi on Thursday handed over a government job appointment letter to Nazakat Ahmad, the brother of Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who was killed while bravely protecting tourists during a terrorist attack in Pahalgam’s Baisaran area on April 22.

Dr. Andrabi, while speaking to the media, said the gesture was a tribute to Adil’s heroic sacrifice. “Adil gave his life to shield innocent lives. This appointment is a small but heartfelt recognition of his unmatched courage. His sacrifice will always be remembered,” she said.

Receiving the appointment letter, Nazakat Ahmad expressed deep gratitude and pride. “My brother laid down his life for humanity. I’m thankful to the authorities for honouring his sacrifice,” he said.

The April 22 attack claimed 26 civilian lives, including that of Adil Hussain, when terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in the picturesque Baisaran valley, drawing widespread grief and condemnation(DD)
