Republic Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir: LG Manoj Sinha to lead main event, CM Omar to be Chief Guest

Jammu, (DD) Republic Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir are set to feature a series of high-profile events, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presiding over the main ceremony at MA Stadium in Jammu, where he will also take the ceremonial salute.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will attend as the chief guest, playing a central role in this year’s national celebrations.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, along with Cabinet Ministers Javid Ahmad Dar, Sakina Itto, Satish Sharma, and Javed Rana, will take the salute at Republic Day functions across key districts, including Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kathua, and Udhampur. These officials will oversee the smooth execution of the ceremonies in their respective districts.

In a bid to make the celebrations more inclusive, the District Development Council (DDC) chairpersons of 14 districts will lead the main functions at their district headquarters. This move reflects the government’s commitment to fostering unity and engagement throughout the region, ensuring that every part of Jammu and Kashmir participates in the national celebration of Republic Day.(DD)
