Jammu, AIIMS Jammu celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm, under the guidance and support of Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Sharma, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Jammu, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to the ideals of unity, service, excellence and nation-building.
The National Flag was unfurled by Prof. (Dr.) Shabab Lalit Angurana, Dean (Research) and Head, Department of Radiotherapy, AIIMS Jammu, and Col. Sanjay Garg, DDA, AIIMS Jammu, followed by the National Anthem, filling the campus with a profound sense of pride and patriotism.
The event was attended by faculty members, officials, staff and students, who participated with enthusiasm and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the rich legacy of the Nation.
In his Independence Day message, Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Sharma extended his warm greetings to the people of India and the entire AIIMS Jammu fraternity, emphasizing that Independence Day is not only a celebration of freedom but also a reminder of our collective responsibility towards the Nation. He called upon everyone to uphold the values of integrity, dedication, compassion and excellence, and to contribute sincerely towards the progress and development of the country.
He further emphasized that, as an institution dedicated to healthcare, education and research, AIIMS Jammu has a vital responsibility to serve society with commitment and excellence, contributing to the vision of a healthier, stronger and self-reliant India.
