Task Force Conducts Joint Inspections to Enforce Child and Adolescent Labour (P&R) Act, 1986 in Kishtwar

Kishtwar ,DD: In a decisive step towards eradicating child labour, the District Task Force under the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, 1986, conducted joint inspections across various market areas in Kishtwar today.

This initiative was undertaken under the directions of the District Magistrate Kishtwar, the close supervision of the District Nodal Officer (DNO)/Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC),Smt. Mamta Sudarshan (JKAS).

Smt. Mamta Sudarshan coordinated with the concerned departments to ensure the effective implementation of the Act across the district.

The inspection team comprised Sheetal Sharma, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee; TSWO Kishtwar, Touseef Iqbal Butt, Protection Officer (NIC) DCPU Kishtwar, Labour Officer; Labour Incharge.

During the inspections, the team surveyed shops and business establishments across the market. The inspections revealed no violations of the Child and Adolescent Labour (P&R) Act, 1986.

This joint effort underscores the District Administration’s commitment to curbing child labour and ensuring the protection of children’s rights. The Task Force urged business owners to continue adhering to the provisions of the Act and to refrain from engaging children in any form of labour.

Such inspections will be conducted regularly, and strict action will be taken against violators to create a child-labour-free environment in Kishtwar.DD
