Students in Kishtwar to Get 50% Concession on Transport Fares

Kishtwar, DD: In a significant relief for students, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) KishtwarTasleem wani has issued a public notice reiterating that students are entitled to a 50% concession on passenger fares while commuting to and from their educational institutions.

As per Notification No: 01-P-MVD of 2021, dated 19-03-2021, issued by the Transport Commissioner (Chairman, State Transport Authority) J&K, both the J&K State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) and private transport operators are mandated to charge only half the fare from students.

To avail of this benefit, students must carry a bona fide and valid identity card from their institution. The ARTO Kishtwar has urged students to report any violations of this directive.

This move comes in response to frequent inquiries from students and aims to ease their financial burden amid the reopening of schools and colleges.DD
