Srinagar Police conducts raids in city parts, incriminating material recovered

Srinagar, (TDD) In a decisive operation, Srinagar police today conducted coordinated raids in the Batamaloo and HMT areas as part of an ongoing investigation into a case registered under FIR No. 65/2024, linked to Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P) Act).

The investigation revolves around individuals allegedly involved in crafting and disseminating malicious narratives aimed at inciting unlawful and violent activities.

Search warrants, issued by the NIA Court, were executed at the residences of Obais Riyaz Dar of Bonpora Batamaloo and Sahil Ahmad Bhat of HMT, Zainakot. Authorities seized incriminating materials and electronic devices. Police indicated that further searches in the homes of other suspects involved in this propaganda network would follow.

This operation underscores the growing importance of vigilance against the misuse of social media platforms. Citizens have been urged to avoid sharing inciteful or misleading content that could fuel unrest, particularly among the youth. The police reiterated their commitment to dismantling networks propagating seditious content and promoting public safety.(TDD)
