Hiranagar: DD, SDM Hiranagar Phulail Singh today visited across the course of river Ujj for assessment of preparations for dealing with floods during the upcoming rainy season.
The other officers who accompanied the SDM were Tehsildar Mahreen, AEE flood protection Kathua, Naib Tehsildar Korepunu, AE Flood control .
The vulnerable areas were identified and the Lamberdars and Chowkidar were directed to keep a close Liason with the people for early warning and evacuation in case of heavy floods .
The AEE was directed to ensure the plugging of the vulnerable points where there is apprehension of breakage of bunds through stage contractor .
Tehsildar Mahreen was also directed to get the river beds desilted at Chabe-Chak so that the filled water flows in the traditional creek without breakage .
NT Korepunu was also directed to keep close Liason with village heads and the Chowki officers of police .DD
