One held with 11.38 grams of heroin in JK’s Udhampur

Udhampur : DD, A police team from Udhampur Police Station while performing patrolling and checking duty near Devika area of Udhampur town and apprehended a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot on seeing the police team.
Upon frisking of the above said person identified as Rafaqat Ali, son of Mohammed Shafi, a resident of Devika near Sai Baba Temple, Udhampur. The Police recovered 11.38 grams of heroin-like contraband from his possession. The accused was arrested on the spot.

In this connection, an FIR No. 60/2025 has been registered under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Udhampur.
The accused, Rafaqat Ali, is a habitual offender with multiple previous cases registered against him.
It is pertinent to mentioned that the accused had also been detained under PSA (Public Safety Act) in 2018-2019 and later under PIT NDPS in 2023.

Further investigation into the case is ongoing.DD
