Udhampur, J&K (India): General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, visited the Ramnagar area of Udhampur district to review security arrangements and the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the region.
According to the Indian Army’s Northern Command, the Army Commander interacted with officers and soldiers and took stock of the operational situation and preparedness to meet potential security challenges.
Lieutenant General Sharma commended the troops for their “quick, precise and professional action” during a recent successful operation. He appreciated their operational efficiency and coordinated response, and encouraged them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
During the visit, he emphasised the importance of constant surveillance, effective intelligence sharing and seamless coordination among security agencies to address emerging security challenges.
He called upon the troops to remain vigilant and further strengthen coordination to maintain peace and security in the region and effectively counter the threat of terrorism.
The visit assumes significance in view of the security situation in the Jammu region and underlines the importance of operational readiness, vigilance and close coordination among security forces.
