NIA Seeks Public Help to Uncover Pahalgam Terror Attack Plot

Diplomat Correspondent

New Delhi / Pahalgam,DD: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has appealed to the public — including tourists, locals, and anyone present in or around Pahalgam — to share any information, photos, or videos that could aid in the ongoing investigation into the April 22 terror attack that shook the heart of Kashmir.

The attack, which left 26 tourists dead and several others wounded, has been described as a “crime against humanity” by officials. In a statement issued today, the NIA confirmed that it is already examining a substantial amount of visual evidence but is now expanding its efforts to ensure no detail goes unnoticed.

“We urge anyone who may have seen, heard, or recorded anything — however small it may seem — to come forward,” said an NIA spokesperson. “Even the most ordinary photo or video could contain a vital clue to the perpetrators or their methods.”

The agency has shared two dedicated contact numbers for this purpose:
Mobile: 9654958816
Landline: 011-24368800

Callers are encouraged to provide their contact details and a brief description of the information or material they wish to share. A senior NIA official will then reach out to facilitate further communication.

The NIA has confirmed that many videos and images have surfaced on social media platforms in the days following the attack. Investigators are carefully analyzing this material along with new inputs from eyewitnesses and on-ground inquiries.

“This was not just an attack on tourists; it was an attack on peace and humanity,” the statement reads. “We are determined to bring those responsible to justice — and the public’s help could be the turning point.”

NIA teams continue to camp at the attack site in Pahalgam, collecting forensic evidence and interviewing locals. Authorities believe the public’s vigilance and cooperation could be crucial in unraveling the conspiracy behind one of the most horrific attacks in the region in recent years(DD)
