Jammu :DD- Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Jammu, Jugal Kishore Sharma, has written to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw requesting the operation of two special trains from Jammu to Prayagraj before February 26.
The letter highlights the significant Magh Kumbh celebration currently underway in Prayagraj during the auspicious Paush Purnima period. The MP noted that the Railway Ministry has already taken commendable steps by running thousands of special trains from various states to facilitate pilgrims’ travel to the Magh Kumbh, with lakhs of devotees arriving daily from both within India and abroad.
The request specifically aims to assist pilgrims from the Jammu region and surrounding areas who wish to participate in this important religious gathering. In his letter dated January 27, 2025, Sharma emphasized that these special train services would greatly benefit pilgrims traveling from Jammu railway station to participate in the sacred Magh Kumbh festivities.DD
