Medical Camp at Singhpoora Chatroo Benefits Over 150 Patients: BMO Dr. Saima agoo Highlights Healthcare Outreach

Imran Shah

Kishtwar, (DD) In a successful healthcare outreach initiative, a medical camp was organized at Singhpoora village in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district, providing much-needed medical services to local residents. Over 150 patients were examined during the camp, according to Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr. Saima agoo, who shared details of the event.

The camp aimed to address healthcare challenges in this remote region by offering free consultations, basic treatments, and health awareness sessions. A team of qualified doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff conducted health check-ups, screened patients for common ailments, and provided medicines to those in need.

Dr. Saima agoo underscored the importance of such camps in bridging the gap between rural communities and medical facilities. “With limited access to healthcare in many parts of Kishtwar, these camps play a crucial role in early diagnosis and prevention of diseases,” she said.

The camp also focused on screening for chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes, with patients requiring further care being referred to the district hospital. Health education was another key component, aimed at raising awareness about hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.

Officials have assured that similar camps will continue to be organized across the district to ensure that quality healthcare reaches even the most underserved areas.(DD)
