Leh:DD, In view of the prevailing situation and to ensure uninterrupted access to essential commodities, the District Administration Leh has issued a schedule for the opening of grocery and vegetable shops across the district.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Leh, Romil Singh Donk (IAS), in the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, ASP Leh, ACR Leh, Tehsildar Leh and Naib Tehsildar Chuchot. Representatives from the Merchant Association Leh, including the President and Vice-President, also attended the meeting.
As per the order issued by the Additional District Magistrate Leh, only shops dealing in grocery and vegetables will be allowed to open at the following timings, Leh Town (Upper Leh, Tiyararong, Skalzangling, Old MC Limit) including Sub-Division Headquarters:
???? 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM
Peripheral Areas (Choglamsar, Phyang, Spituk and adjoining villages):
???? 03:00 PM to 05:30 PM.
To ensure smooth regulation, Dy. SP Traffic along with respective Magistrates have been directed to monitor vehicle movement during permitted hours.
The administration has urged shopkeepers and residents to strictly follow the schedule and cooperate in maintaining order. (KNC)
