New York/Florida: In an effort to generate informed global discussion on the changing socio-political and media landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmir Discussion Forum USA has announced an international Zoom dialogue titled “Voices of J&K: Media, Society & Nationhood,” to be held on Sunday.
The event is specially dedicated to the memory of the Pahalgam martyrs and is expected to bring together participants, analysts, journalists, and members of the Kashmiri diaspora from different parts of the world.
According to the organizers, the discussion will focus on the role of the media in shaping public understanding of Jammu and Kashmir, the responsibilities of civil society during sensitive times, and the broader challenges of preserving truth, democratic values, and national cohesion.
Senior journalist Ashwani Kumar, known for his long professional engagement with Jammu and Kashmir affairs, will deliver the keynote address as the distinguished guest speaker.
The session will be chaired and moderated by Surinder Zutshi, Editor of Kashmir NRI Today, who said that the forum seeks to create “a responsible international conversation where facts, memory, and national concerns can be discussed with seriousness and dignity.”
The organizers said the program is expected to be attended virtually by viewers from the United States, India, and several other countries.
The event forms part of the Kashmir Discussion Forum USA’s continuing initiative to connect global voices on issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir. (Observer News Service)
