J&K Government reschedules e-office migration in view of advisory on cybersecurity.

Srinagar, (TDD): Jammu and Kashmir Government releases new schedule for its planned downtime while e-office migration is scheduled.According to earlier scheduled it would be on September 29, 2024. Now, this Government has rescheduled by 7 PM on October 1, 2024 and would last till midnight on October 2, 2024 and will be up in the morning of October 3, 2024,” reads a commune a copy of which lies with The Diplomat.Digital.

It reads, the revised timetable is following the disruption in communication at the VPN of the RailTel Data Centre, which affected the e-Office Project Management Unit. The cause of disruption came after the emergency cybersecurity advisory issued, this resulted in a gap of 18 hours.

“The communications on this issue were received by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir from RailTel on September 27, 2024,” it reads

Also, “Roopali Arora, Under Secretary to the Government issued a directive to all Administrative Secretaries to place individual/migration offices on record noting the downtime revised and making necessary arrangements.
e-Office migration is an integral part of the government’s effort to bring out efficiency as well as transparency into the administrative process in Jammu and Kashmir,” it reads.—(TDD)
