Handwara Police conducts raid in connection with UAPA Case

Handwara, DD, In a significant development in its sustained drive against unlawful activities, Handwara Police today conducted a raid at the residential premises of Gul Waheed Bhat, son of Habibullah Bhat, resident of Kohinoor Colony Handwara, who is affiliated with the proscribed organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI).

The raid was carried out in pursuance of investigations related to Case FIR No. 29/2019 under sections 10 & 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), registered at Police Station Handwara.

During the raid, necessary searches were conducted in accordance with due procedure of law. The operation was aimed at further strengthening the investigation of the said case, which pertains to activities prejudicial to the security of the State and maintenance of public order.

Police have been continuously taking firm action against individuals and groups found involved in unlawful activities, particularly those linked with banned organisations. Such operations form part of the broader efforts to dismantle the support structures of unlawful networks and ensure peace, stability and security in the region.

Handwara Police has once again reaffirmed its commitment to act firmly against any person found involved in unlawful or anti-national activities. Citizens are also requested to extend their full cooperation to police and other law enforcement agencies in order to maintain the hard-earned peace in the district.

Handwara Police appeals to the general public to share any information related to unlawful activities in their area with the nearest Police Station. The identity of informers shall be kept confidential.DD
