Kargil, DD: Deputy Commissioner and CEO of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, chaired a review meeting on Monday to discuss the beautification and development of Bul Bul Bagh and Sher Bagh, two prominent recreational spaces in Kargil town.
The meeting, held at the DC’s Office Chamber, was attended by key officials, including the Executive Engineers of R&B and Kargil Development Authority (KDA), Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee, Divisional Forest Officer Kargil, Wildlife Warden, and representatives from the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO), SIDCO, and the Tourism Department.
DC Rakesh Kumar reviewed various ongoing and proposed projects such as the construction of footpaths, installation of street lighting, operation of the sound and light show, construction of foot bridges, and tree pruning within the parks.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to expedite their respective projects to ensure that both Bul Bul Bagh and Sher Bagh remain accessible to the public with enhanced facilities for recreation and leisure.
He also instructed officials to conduct site visits to explore the feasibility of introducing additional adventure activities in the parks, including wall climbing, to attract more visitors and provide diverse recreational opportunities.DD
