Day-long Certificate Training Programme for Master Trainers held in Kargil

Kargil: DD, A day-long training programme for Master trainers of District Kargil, under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, was organized by the State Level Coordinating Agency of J&K and Ladakh which comes under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GOI.

The programme was attended by District Social Welfare Officer Samina Khatoon, J&K State Coordinator Farhan and their resource person, Social Workers of District and welfare office Kargil, DDAC Kargil Manager Imtiyaz Hussain, along with other organizing committee members, master volunteers, and students.

During the programme, DSWO Samina Khatoon addressed the participants and emphasized that adolescents and young people are the primary target group for drug prevention efforts, as many face identity crises and confusion during their formative years. She highlighted the crucial role of teachers as torchbearers in this arena, guiding students, providing mentorship, and spreading awareness to help them make responsible choices. According to her, education, mentorship, and community support are key to building a healthier, drug-free society.

The focus of the programme was on addressing drug abuse, its prevention, and measures for rehabilitation. The coordinators highlighted the core issue of rising drug abuse in society and motivated students to stay away from drugs. Volunteers were also encouraged to stay connected with DDAC (District Drug De-addiction Center) Kargil to strengthen efforts in curbing the menace.

Overall, the programme proved to be fruitful and insightful, as it addressed one of the most pressing challenges of the society-drug abuse. The speakers emphasized that to cope with this challenge, collective responsibility, awareness, and careful action are crucial in preventing the spread of drugs in the community.DD
